Room Heaters
Room heaters are the electronic devices that convert electric current into heat. The elements present inside the device have electrical resistor which works on the heating principle, in which all the electric waves pass through a resistor and converts electrical current into heat. The heating elements have exposed resistor coil mounted on insulators, metallic resistor embedded and wrapped in protective metal or wrapped in glass with printed circuit. Resistors are composed of metal-alloy wires and non metallic carbon compounds. The fins present in heater are used to increase the area which vanish the heat. The room heaters are having limited heating capacity up to 2400 W. These heaters use electricity to produce heat and don’t produce any pollution. Room heaters are always mounted on the inflammable floor so that it does not catch fire in the room. The legs of room heaters are so well designed that there is clearance between there support surface and the bottom of it. Thus there is proper air circulation and heater is prevented from getting over heated.
Room heaters should not have open flames or exposed heating elements. Heater’s exposed surface should be cool enough to touch without any risk of burns. The safe heaters have safety cut-off switches in the case of they accident like electrical faults, overheating due any reason or overloading of electrical circuits.
Room heaters use variety of techniques to heat air, but they are mainly two types: Convection and Radiant. Radiant heaters heat objects directly opposed to the surrounding air, they are best only for one or two people to keep warm. Radiant heaters are the better choice for office or workshop. Radiant heaters uses either ribbon coil or quartz tubes with reflective panel to produce heat, these quartz rods or tubes should be replaced periodically. Convection heaters are best when we want to raise the temperature in whole room. These heaters use natural convection like air present in the room or forced convection like fan to circulate warm air. Using natural convection are quiet silent and experts say that they are among the safest heaters and convection heaters with the fans make noise but circulate the heat more quickly then natural convection.
Features and Benefits of Room Heater
- In this we can provide both convection and radiant heat into the room.
- They are also available in natural gas or Propane.
- Room Heaters are prefect for home and office use.
- It has high safety rating and overheats protection that provides peace to mind.
Safety Features of Heater
- It has protective grill on the heating element which keeps from items to catch fire.
- Always place the heater at least 3 feet’s away from the objects which might catch fire or may fall on the heater.
- When you go to sleep or go out of the room, never leave the heater ON .
